Are you ready to lead strategic real estate initiatives on a global scale? Hubbell is looking for a Manager, Real Estate to drive innovation, efficiency, and growth across its diverse portfolio of manufacturing, warehouse, and office spaces worldwide.

 

This position reports to the Director, Real Estate and partners with business leaders to develop strategies and execute transactions for the acquisition, disposition, relocation, and on-going management of Hubbell Incorporated’s global real estate portfolio (owned and leased manufacturing, warehouse, office, and other support facilities).

 

This position drives real estate process development, growth and execution, while providing real estate portfolio analytics analysis with an overall responsibility to drive strategic initiatives and deliver continuous improvement. The position includes the coordination of brokers, architects, engineers, and other real estate advisors. This position will also manage continued development, coordination and execution of company building standards, furniture specs and design, space utilization, reporting and support of employee data within the building analytics segment of the portfolio.

 

A Day In The Life

The Manager, Real Estate, will routinely interface with multiple functions including but not limited to Legal, Operations, Human Resources, EHS and will be expected to:

  • Support all transactions, processes and approvals required for Hubbell’s Global Real Estate portfolio
  • Work with Director of Real Estate and leadership to develop and maintain a vision for the real estate program and supporting real estate functions within Hubbell. This involves creating innovative and forward-thinking plans to drive growth and unlock value.
  • Support the development of a 3-year strategic market plan that aligns with Hubbell’s overall strategic plan. Identify areas for savings or capitalize on value-added market conditions.
  • Partner with Hubbell business leaders and functional stakeholders to develop strategies for the acquisition, disposition, relocation, and on-going management of Hubbell’s global real estate portfolio.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including property managers, owners, facility managers, contractors and other service providers.
  • Execute a real estate focused acquisition due diligence program. Lead real estate due diligence activities for applicable acquisition targets.
  • Support Hubbell’s attorneys in the drafting and negotiation of real estate documents.
  • Manage established KPIs related to the Real Estate Program.
  • Monitor critical dates and coordinate with external transaction team and internal stakeholders to respond to lease provisions including expirations, early terminations, and purchase options.
  • Manage the real estate management system (Sequentra and CBRM) used to maintain information on all owned and leased properties, including lease transmittals and document submission.
  • Support the development and oversite of real estate project budgets, including AFE development and lease cashflow analysis.
  • Continued development, analysis and execution of Hubbell’s real estate portfolio analytics, including space utilization, employee data, reporting, furniture standards & design, and frameworks in conjunction with Procurement policies.
  • Develop and maintain MS Power BI dashboards on Hubbell’s real estate portfolio.
  • Coordinate and support Hubbell’s Sustainability team, reporting and documentation. Advance continued initiatives to drive reductions in energy usage, fossil fuels, increase renewable energy usage and remanufacturing of existing furniture or equipment.
  • Own and manage 10-K reporting requirements for Hubbell building related data.
  • Lead strategic department initiatives to deliver continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will have the following experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university is required
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in corporate or investment real estate
  • Strong knowledge of commercial real estate and leasing processes
  • High degree of project management, communication skills, and attention to detail
  • Strong critical thinking and negotiating skills with a creative mindset
  • Experience with a real estate management system (such as Sequentra)
  • Proficiency in PC based software including MS Office Suite (Excel, Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Master’s degree in a related business / real estate field from an accredited college or university is a plus
  • Real estate experience within a national or multinational corporation or industrial industry a plus
  • Cursory knowledge of environmental matters as it relates to real estate is a plus
  • Willingness to travel as needed (less than 15%)
