Division Overview
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Position Overview

Plans, directs and manages all production activities to meet all customer demands

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plans, directs and manages all production activities related to their area’s manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure all Associates working safe and adhering to ALL safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensures production schedules are met on-time based upon schedule. 
  • Works closely with Maintenance and Engineering to ensure equipment uptime.
  • Ensures accurate records (labor reporting and production).
  • Assist in the development cost saving measures through the improvement process (Kaizen).
  • Completes Hourly employee annual evaluations timely and equitably.
  • Supervise hourly employees…positively reinforce desirable behaviors and address unacceptable behaviors.
  • Coach, develop, support and train direct reports.
  • Learn and apply Lean techniques on a daily basis…Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, 5S, Kan Ban, etc.

Skills and Experience

  • Must have 3+ years manufacturing experience in a “hands on” and progressive environment.
  • Familiarity with SAP experience a plus
  • Must have a clear understanding and the ability to interpret Blue Prints / Mechanical drawings.
  • Must have a minimum of 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing supervisory or Group Leader role. 
  • Must be results oriented, hands on, high achiever. 
  • Experienced using and implementing Lean manufacturing principles.

Education

Bachelors Degree in Business
