Position Overview
This is a hybrid commercial and engineering role responsible for driving growth in new and legacy markets, this role is seen as an integral part of the business and will be tasked with executing tactical and critical initiatives in collaboration with a cross functional team to grow Electric Motion Companies sales and profitability.
Candidates should be capable of garnering respect from internal departments and challenging the status quo. Be inventive, driven, organized with strong communication skills, as well as being able to multitask and schedule optimally.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Managers to define and develop customer, market and industry needs in pursuit of short term and long-term business plans.
- Develop and execute product line training for internal and external customers and outstanding marketing collateral.
- Support Customers with technical and commercial needs on a day to day basis.
- Support multiple NPD and product extension projects from start to finish.
- Support the optimization and maintenance of assigned product line in an efficient manner, such as, leading cost reduction efforts, engineering change requests and sku rationalization.
- Perform or assist with mechanical design and testing needs to qualify or validate product performance.
- Assist in developing product training material for sales force.
- Analyze field reports and provide assistance to the sales and product management teams in setting the sales strategy and goals.
- Participate in the New Product Development Process.
- Assists in the development of advertising and promotional programs for specific projects.
- Coordinate the initiation of field surveys concerning new products and or services offered by HCE.
- Work with the marketing team to maintain the product catalog information.
- Assist in developing vertical market brochures and marketing material.
- Assist Product Management Team with the planning process.
- Coordinate and supervise progress on assigned projects.
- Initiate and select new product development projects with Product Management mentorship.
- Assists in any forecast adjustments made to the assigned products.
- Develop and maintain an up-to-date analysis of all pertinent competitors and products.
- Responsible for setting price levels.
- Responsible for quote approval of assigned products.
- Recommend the obsolescence of low volume or low margin items.
Skills and Experience
- BS in Business or Engineering.
- Confirmed experience/Industry preferred-Industrial products.
- Previous sales experience a plus.
- Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Digital Literacy; have strong Microsoft Office, e-mail and other PC application skills. Knowledge of ERP System.
- Problem Solving; identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem solving situations; uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
- Project Management; under direction of the Project Manager develops project plans; coordinates projects; communicates changes and progress; completes projects on time and budget; leads project team activities.
