Position Overview
Responsible for new product design and development, existing product line maintenance, product testing, developing customer solutions pertaining to the Utility markets (Communications, Power, Cable TV, OEM) to grow the sales and profitability
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversight over existing and new product designs and development to include R&D, concept generation / evaluation, costing, manufacturing process, material selection.
- Product line maintenance (cost reductions, drawing updates, engineering change requests and interfacing with various departments including Manufacturing, Mfg. Engineering & QA Departments).
- Product line variations (design, test & document product variations needed for specific customer demands).
- Supports with mechanical and/or electrical testing needs to qualify or validate product performance.
- Collaborate with Product Manager in efforts to understand industry needs and define product line additions necessary to gain greater market share.
- Assist Product Manager in assisting Customers with application needs/questions and may include customer training of proper product application/installation.
Skills and Experience
- 2-4 years Manufacturing experience preferred
- CAD experience, with the ability to build/ review/ revise 3D models and drawings.
- Knowledge of metal and plastic manufacturing processes.
- SAP experience preferred
- Excellent communication skill, orally and in writing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint,Outlook)
- Provide analytics & critical thinking/ go forward strategy on existing products and NPD.
- Willing to take a practical front-line approach to solve problems.
