Job Overview
As a member of our Engineering Services Team, you will help create drawing packages for our utility customers. As a Station Designer II, you will apply your technical and functional knowledge in the creation of drawings such as layouts, elevations, plan views, details, and cable schedules. You will also support drafting tasks during peak load times.
A Day In The Life
- Yellow-line layouts, elevations, plan views and cable schedules to match scope and one-line diagrams to ensure drawing quality
- Create physical layouts, elevations and plan views using the project scope
- Create cable schedules from cable layout drawings
- Create project specific vendor drawings using the project scope
- Revise existing customer layouts, elevations, and detail drawings for retrofit of new equipment
- Manage percent completes for the project and updating associated documents
- Calculate cable lengths for all exterior cables/wires
- Communicate with other OEC firms and clients regarding drawing ownership
- Assist with drafting support during peak load times
What will help you thrive in this role?
- Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent
- Extensive direct technical experience in a similar field
- Extensive knowledge of reading physical drawings
- Comprehensive knowledge of MS office suite
- Extensive knowledge of structures and assembly drawings
- Ability to build cable schedules from conduit, and wiring diagrams
- Ability to create layouts, elevations and plan views when given equipment orientation
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- Ability to multitask given projects based on deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively with other OEC firms and clients
