Job Overview
The Continuous Improvement Engineer plays a critical role in deploying and sustaining the Hubbell Manufacturing System (HMS) at the Vega Baja site. This position partners cross-functionally to drive Lean transformation, improve operational performance (People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost), and build continuous improvement capability across the organization.
A Day In The Life
Every day at Hubbell is different and you'll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you'll make a difference by:
- Support deployment and sustainment of HMS principles and standards.
- Lead Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), A3 problem solving, and root cause analysis.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, lead time, and variation.
- Improve manufacturing flow, productivity, and line performance through Lean tools.
- Coach and train teams on Lean methodologies and problem-solving techniques.
- Support Tier Management, standard work, and visual management systems.
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to execute improvements.
- Lead CI projects and support future-state manufacturing design and layouts.
- Maintain documentation aligned with standard work and ISO requirements.
What will help you thrive in this role?
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical or related).
- 2+ years of experience in manufacturing.
- Experience in Lean / Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma (Green Belt preferred).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Visio is a plus.
- Ability to influence and drive change in a cross-functional environment.

This role is hands-on on the shop floor-leading Gemba walks, facilitating problem-solving, analyzing performance, and coaching teams to sustain improvements and deliver business impact.
