Position Overview

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Under the direction, or general direction, of the Planning Supervisor, this position analyzes materials need, according to forecast, process requirements for material, expedite and get material to manufacturing areas on time to meet production schedules and maintain inventory level at requirements.  Sets schedules, establishes priorities and monitors usages to support demands.  Performs activities ensuring the accomplishments of production, quality, and cost related objectives, for Hubbell Caribe Limited (“HCL”).  Adheres to the compliance in the “HCL” for quality product certifications, such as: Underwriters Laboratories, Canadian Standards Association, and compliance with the established Quality System as required by the International Standardization Organization 9001:2008.  Gives complete support to Manufacturing Supervisors, Managers and Associates in activities focused to the promotion, training, maintenance and sustainment of continuous improvement in all processes.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review the Reports and prepare a production schedule based on materials availability, work centers capacity and customer priorities.
  • Release Production Orders by priority and due dates taking into consideration component availability.
  • Reschedule Production Orders in accordance with Production Plan (Expedite, de-expedite, cancel orders, etc.).
  • In coordination with manufacturing Supervisors, close old Production Orders to maintain database integrity.
  • Prepare periodic Components Shortages Reports (purchased, molded and fabricated) specifying quantity and need date
  • Communicate with Division Master Schedulers to negotiate schedule changes, notify delivery dates of high priority products, and obtain information regarding the introduction of new products.
  • Notify Cycle Counters of known inventory count discrepancies.  Investigate root causes of recurrent component shortages and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Stimulates the development of ideas, programs, and new approaches among peers or subordinates.
  • Assumes additional duties and responsibilities related as required and assigned.
Skills and Experience
  • BS in Industrial Engineering, Materials Management, or Business Administration
  • Minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years’ experience with Materials Management in production or planning/capacity functions
  • APICS Certification
  • Knowledge of production processes and flow of product
  • Must be able to be effective in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communications skills written and verbal in the Spanish/English languages.
  • Strong knowledge in MRPII information systems, SAP R/3 (MM/PP/IM/WM) and Microsoft Excel.
Education
Bachelors Degree
