Job Overview
Under the direction of the Operations Manager, this position analyzes materials need according to forecast, process requirements for material, expedite and get material to manufacturing areas on time to meet production schedules and maintain inventory level at requirements. Sets schedules, establishes priorities and monitors usages to support demands. Performs activities ensuring the accomplishments of production, quality, and cost related objectives, for Hubbell Caribe Limited (“HCL”).
A Day In The Life
- Review the Portal Report and prepare a production schedule based on materials availability, work centers capacity and customer priorities.
- Release Production Orders by priority and due dates taking into consideration component availability.
- Reschedule Production Orders in accordance with Production Plan (Expedite, de-expedite, cancel orders, etc.).
- In coordination with manufacturing Supervisors, close old Production Orders to maintain database integrity.
- Prepare periodic Components Shortages Reports (purchased, molded and fabricated) specifying quantity and need date.
- Specify planning and inventory parameters of new products and components in database (order policy, planner id, lead times, min/max., material issue method, etc.), if applicable.
- Request or make corrections to part planning and inventory data in system database.
- Notify or follow up with BOM’s & Routing clerk on changes made or needed to Bill of Material and Routes.
- Communicate with Division Master Schedulers to negotiate schedule changes, notify delivery dates of high priority products, and obtain information regarding the introduction of new products.
- Prepare Excess and Inventory Reports, if applicable.
- In conjunction with area Supervisors, establishes inventory levels and ordering systems for Shop Floor Kanban Systems.
- Responsible for executing SAP releases for the Kanban parts to create a Purchase Requisition to Purchasing area.
What will help you thrive in this role?
- BS in Industrial Engineering, Materials Management, or Business Administration.
- Minimum of one (1) to five (5) years’ experience with Materials Management in production or planning functions.
- Good communications skills written and verbal in the Spanish/English languages.
- Experience with MRPII information systems, SAP R/3 and Microsoft XP.
