Job Overview

The Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that Aclara Meters Philippines complies with all applicable external statutory and regulatory requirements, as well as internal Hubbell corporate policies. This role monitors, interprets, and implements new regulations affecting legal entities and manufacturing operations in the Philippines—covering environmental compliance, health and safety, Bureau of Customs requirements, data privacy, and other relevant local regulations and legislations.
The position also oversees adherence to Hubbell internal compliance standards, including site security, document retention, business continuity planning (BCP), legal policies, and audit readiness.

A Day In The Life

 

Ensure full compliance with all Philippine laws and regulations applicable to manufacturing companies and legal entities, including but not limited to:

Environmental regulations (DENR, EMB, LLDA), Health and safety regulations (DOLE, OSH Standards), Data privacy requirements (National Privacy Commission),Bureau of Customs regulations and audits, National and local government permits, licenses, and reporting obligations, including renewal of all business permits and licenses.

Monitor newly released legislations, circulars, and regulatory updates; assess applicability and requirements, identify compliance gaps, and coordinate implementation across the organization.

Develop and maintain a compliance calendar and regulatory tracker to ensure timely submissions, renewals, and audits; utilize Benchmark Gensuite platform and/or any other platform being utilized by Hubbell.

Lead regulatory audits and inspections, partnering with government agencies and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.

Conduct periodic compliance risk assessments and recommend mitigation actions.

Establish and improve internal controls related to regulatory and corporate compliance.

Maintain compliance-related documentation, policies, manuals, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Develop and deliver compliance training programs for employees and contractors.

Promote a culture of compliance and ethical conduct through regular communication and awareness initiatives.

Prepare compliance reports for local management, regional stakeholders, and corporate teams as required.

Maintain accurate records of permits, audit results, filings, and certifications.


What will help you thrive in this role?

Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Business Administration, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

At least 3–5 years of experience in regulatory compliance, corporate compliance, EHS compliance, or internal audit within a manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of relevant Philippine laws and regulations (DENR, EMB, LLDA, DOLE, DTI, NPC, LGU permitting, etc.).

Experience with compliance auditing, risk assessments, documentation, and policy implementation.

Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder‑management skills.

Ability to work with cross-functional teams and interface with government agencies
