Job Overview

Our accounting team is looking for a Staff Accountant will provide accounting expertise to ensure the timely and accurate processing and reporting of accounting and financial transactions and will assist with implementing processes that ensure strong internal controls. This position will require an individual who has a solid understanding of the fundamentals of accounting, accounting process and system improvements, and internal controls. This role will support Aclara and is based in St. Louis, MO.

A Day In The Life

  • Perform month-end close routines, including preparing journal entries and preparing account reconciliations in Blackline
  • Perform SOX controls as assigned and assist with internal and external control audits
  • Ensure compliance with existing company policies and procedures
  • Assess proper accounting treatment in accordance with GAAP
  • Provides research, analysis and support for other tasks, as requested.
  • Ensure proper fixed asset treatment for new assets and disposals
  • Provide support to maintain costing for projects and inventory
  • Provide support to business with AP-related activities as needed
  • Other special projects as necessary

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 2 - 5 years of accounting, auditing and related experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of SAP, OneStream and Blackline is highly desirable but not required
  • Highly organized with an ability to work well under tight time constraints and simultaneously manage multiple tasks
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
