Job Overview

The Sr. Director, Sourcing - Sourcing will report directly to the VP, HUS Group Operations and will be responsible for managing a team of senior sourcing managers within the strategic business units of the HUS segment. The individual who fills this role must build a customer-focused, service-oriented team, and foster a high-performing, motivated team through their leadership skills. This position will involve leading efforts across the HUS segment interacting with multiple geographies and work cultures.  The primary objective of this position is to drive sourcing productivity and performance, and improve supply chain resiliency. 

A Day In The Life

  • Sr. Director - Sourcing position will manage senior-level direct reports and will be accountable to provide source-to-contract support to the HUS strategic business units in support of business needs.
  • Develop and maintain strong global relationships in a matrixed operating business structure, corporate and cross functional levels
  • Collaborate effectively across our enterprise supply chain teams, global supply chain and internal business stakeholders 
  • Supplier Risk Mitigation:  Develop and execution of risk reducing direct and indirect material sourcing strategies for Hubbell Utility Systems. 
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, executing, and sustaining large scale projects to drive improvement while ensuring alignment with the business needs 
  • This position will work closely with HUS VP/GMs, Plant Management, Materials Management, Operations, Category Management and Hubbell Corporate Sourcing leadership to drive results to support AIM objectives and key business metrics.

  • BS in Supply Chain Management or equivalent 
  • 15+ years progressive supply chain experience
  • Experience developing and managing others
  • Proven experience in complex supplier negotiations with both domestic and international supply chains
  • Effective change management, project management and relationship building skills
  • Clear, energetic, engaging presentation and communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving & judgement capabilities to aid in decision making
  • Ability to work both independently and effectively across teams and persuade/influence others in a matrixed organizational structure
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines, prioritize workload and achieve effective results in a fast-paced, dynamic, ever-growing, and often ambiguous environment; effective multi-tasking skills are vital
  • Ability to exercise effective problem solving and good judgment to make decisions
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, supply stability and project dependent
