A Day In The Life

Job Duties:

  • Perform monitoring, health checks, troubleshooting, storage and capacity planning, patching, upgrades, and security for computer databases.
  • Provide technical support for database development, oversee schema, structure, and transactional processing of database system. Implement production changes.
  • Perform database maintenance, log shipping and user scheduled jobs.
  • Perform database administrator tasks, self-audit, DR verification, service pack implementation and DBA maintenance tasks.
  • Enforce standards, policies, processes and procedures for data management and quality.
  • Research technology and company business operations.
  • Assist in troubleshooting application and database objects.
  • This position is hybrid; may work from home up to 2 days per week.

What will help you thrive in this role?

Qualifications:

  • Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field and at least 6 years of progressive experience as a SQL Database Administrator or in a related role
  • At least 4 years of experience managing and supporting SQL Server in Azure (IAAS, PAAS)
  • At least 4 years of experience with SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS
  • At least 2 years of experience with Ideara and PagerDuty DBMS monitoring and tools
  • At least 2 years of experience with Windows Server OS administration
  • At least 2 years of experience with DBMS maintenance tools
  • The salary for this position is $119,642 per year.
