Position Overview
The Hubbell Enterprise Marketing (HEM) Senior Associate – Copywriting develops content strategy and plans, ensures that strategic direction is maintained in content pieces, and determines what content formats to employ to promote messages (including but not exclusively white papers, case studies, brochures, video and audio scripts).They will write and edit content pieces, and manage the project work of freelancers.
As part of this role, the Senior Associate – Copywriting collaborates with digital team members on ideating and executing promotional campaigns (including tactics such as email and social media) for content plans. They also team up with the creative team to prepare content for production that conforms to the accepted copywriting, structural, brand and style guidelines of the organization.
The Senior Associate – Copywriting will collaborate with stakeholders in Hubbell’s vertical and segment markets to create content strategies and plans that align with business goals and resonate with target audiences. They will possess exceptional writing and editorial skills to ensure consistent voice, tone and proper grammar are applied to all Hubbell marketing materials including print and digital content assets.
The Senior Associate – Copywriting should be team-oriented, creative, dedicated, and work well under pressure and against strict deadlines. The successful candidate will achieve technical, qualitative and quantitative goals while meeting content program requirements and deadlines.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive strategies that align with business goals and target audience requirements
- Create high-quality, engaging B2B content in collaboration with the HEM organization
- Manage the work of freelance contributors, as required.
- Identify and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for content programs and adapt strategies as necessary based on content performance
- Confer with internal stakeholders across Hubbell to understand content requirements, objectives, target audiences, and presentation concepts, collaborating closely with them to create content
- Mentor junior members of the content team
- Refine and edit content to conform with editorial guidance, accepted standards, and standard processes
- Assist HEM team members and internal clients (non-writers by profession) to add polish and ensure that content meets the organizational guidelines
- Implement SEO and keywords guidelines to optimize digital content for search and ensure optimal user experience
- Develop and implement content governance norms based on in-house writing style guides, standard accepted style practices, and shared terminology and language for consistency and professionalism across our content
- Provide input and collaboration on design concepts, content standards and layouts
- Ensure high quality and on time completion of all work projects
- Adhere to editorial calendars and update content repositories to ensure efficient workflow and content maintenance
Requirements
The successful candidate, first and foremost, will possess a palpable love of content and B2B marketing. Other requirements include the following:
- BA or BS degree in any relevant field of study
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in content strategy, editing, writing, or related for an agency, in-house marketing communications team, product marketing department, content strategy team, or media outlet
- Background in writing about technical subject matter, either in a marketing or trade press role
- Exceptional writing, grammatical and editing skills
- Proven technical knowledge of marketing content creation for all marketing channels, especially digital
- Competency in applying editing best practices and techniques
- The ability to work with minimal supervision in delivering high quality work
- Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with global, cross-functional teams as needed
- Demonstrated ability to communicate credibly and effectively
- Strong listening, time management, interpersonal, and communications skills
- Self-motivated and able to thrive in a fast paced, result-driven environment
- Solid knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Understanding of and a level of comfort with the Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Adobe Photoshop and Acrobat
- Familiarity with using project management software in completing work product preferred.
- Willingness to learn the latest content marketing technologies and techniques as required
