Job Overview

The Senior Accountant position will provide accounting expertise to ensure the timely and accurate processing and reporting of accounting and financial transactions and will assist with implementing processes that ensure strong internal controls. This position will require an individual who has a solid understanding of the fundamentals of accounting, accounting process and system improvements and internal controls. This role will support the Integrated Substation Solutions (ISS) Business.

A Day In The Life

  • Perform month-end close routines, including journal entries and reconciliations
  • Manage functional areas of responsibility including revenue recognition, and ensure activities are executed in a timely and accurate manner in compliance with internal controls and corporate policy
  • Perform SOX controls as assigned and assist with internal and external control audits
  • Ensure compliance with existing company policies and procedures
  • Assess proper accounting treatment in accordance with GAAP
  • Provides research, analysis and support for other tasks, as requested
  • Leverage system and technology knowledge to drive simplification efforts and work to eliminate/minimize non-value-added activities
  • Participate in other special projects as assigned

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • 3 – 5 years of accounting, auditing and related experience
  • Knowledge of Syteline, SAP, OneStream and Blackline is highly desirable
  • Strong working knowledge of ASC 606, its principles, and the application of these principles to everyday revenue-related transactions
  • Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley control and compliance requirements
  • Highly organized with an ability to work well under tight time constraints and simultaneously manage multiple tasks
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Public accounting experience desirable
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, process flows and policies and procedures
  • Able to work hands on within the various departments of the organization and communicate effectively up the chain of command
