Division Overview
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Position Overview

The Product Development Manager - Electric Vehicle Market is a new position for Hubbell and will push our business into the fast growing EV market. Hubbell is a market leader in the electric utility space and we plan to leverage our deep knowledge of the electric utility space to provide a similarly strong product offering in the EV space as well. 

This position is responsible for understanding the market needs, articulating the customer solutions, and collaborating across business leaders to drive Hubbell's product offerings in the EV space.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead market activities with respect to all product offerings related to electric vehicles
  • Understand emerging and rapidly evolving market needs of utilities with respect to electric vehicle growth
  • Gather market intelligence and data to serve as the internal Hubbell market expert on EV product related matters
  • Serve as the center Hubbell coordinator for cross-business unit development of products and services.
  • Identify specific customer usage cases, product solutions, and business cases to spur new product development.
  • Coordinate co-learning, co-development, and initial product pilot programs with key customers.
     

Skills and Experience

Job Requirements:

  • Expert knowledge and experience with electric utilities with respect to grid modernization and electric vehicle related programs. 
  • Program management skills.  (for purpose of coordinating co-learning and pilot programs with key customers)
  • Marketing experience  (to understand market needs, analyze market sizes, and articulate business cases)
  • Experience with utility system engineering or operations (to facilitate effective interaction with utilities)
  • Strong communication skills (to facilitate organizational learning, and to articulate business cases)
  • Strong collaboration skills (for managing opportunities and projects that span across Hubbell business units)

Experience level:

  • 10 years in products or services related to electric utility industry.  
  • 5 years in products or services specifically related to electric grid modernization or EV
  • BS degree in engineering, business, or marketing.  
     

Education

Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or Business
