Job Overview

The Pricing Data Analyst will perform advanced data analysis to develop actionable pricing insights and innovative tools that drive price efficacy within the organization. This role will be responsible for accurate and timely reporting, ad-hoc analytics development to address dynamic business needs, and providing critical pricing insights to organization leaders. You’ll be working directly with all levels of the segment to build bridges between technology and organizational goals.

 

Critical to success in this role is a deep technical understanding of data modeling design principles, proficiency with the full suite of MS O365 products including advanced Excel and Power BI skills, and a creative approach to breaking down complex requirements and solutioning with imperfect data. Additionally, to thrive in this role requires a self-starter mentality, exceptional critical thinking skills, and the ability to independently solve complex problems supported by data.

A Day In The Life

· Develop and maintain data modeling and visualization tools that promote continuous improvement across the Utility Solutions segment.

· Create reports and dashboards in Power BI to help drive key business decisions.

· Translate complex business requirements into specifications that will be used to implement the required reports and dashboards, created from potentially multiple data sources.

· Synthesize multiple sources of data (SAP, Salesforce, External market metrics) to provide a holistic view of sale performance and opportunities.

· Support implementation of quotation and pricing procedure changes to improve key pricing metrics.

· Develop pricing models to maximize efficiency and win rates.

· Develop and execute processes that allow for the timely implementation of mass price adjustments in response to evolving market conditions.

· Manage the price maintenance process for new customers and new products.

· Develop tools and processes to collect market feedback, identify trends, and ensure competitive pricing.

· Automate routine reporting tasks and help move the organization to a more mature data culture.

· Participate in and lead special projects.

What will help you thrive in this role?

Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Business Analytics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, or another analytically rigorous field. Master’s degree preferred.

· 3+ years of deep experience developing efficient reports and analysis with Power BI, including complex M and DAX queries, data model design principles and tradeoffs, and working with imperfect data.

· High proficiency with MS Excel, including advanced formulas, VBA, and PowerQuery.

· Experience with SAP is highly desired, specific experience with SAP Sales & Distribution module preferred.

· Experience with Salesforce is a plus.

· Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to work with large datasets and make data-driven pricing decisions

· Ability to consistently meet critical deadlines and deliver accurate results.

· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex pricing concepts and influence stakeholders within the organization.

· Exceptional judgment with a demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and be creative in developing alternative solutions in a fast-paced environment.
