Job Overview

The Manager, AI Platform owns the strategy, roadmap, operational maturity, and vendor relationship for Hubbell’s AI platform ecosystem, with accountability for all current and future AI Platforms (IBM ICA as a core enterprise platform). This leader ensures the platform is scalable, secure, and production-ready while partnering across architecture, engineering, security, and delivery teams to align platform capabilities to business priorities. The role also leads the support model for AI Platforms like IBM ICA, including management of consultant resources, and builds the team, governance, and operating discipline needed to sustain and evolve the platform over time.

A Day In The Life

  • Own the Enterprise AI platform roadmap for Hubbell, including evaluation of upcoming capabilities, release impacts, and enablement priorities needed to support enterprise AI use cases.
  • Translate platform roadmap and maturity requirements into delivery dependencies, ensuring architecture and delivery teams understand what platform capabilities must be in place to support planned solutions.
  • Lead the vendor platform relationship, including contract performance, escalation management, roadmap alignment, licensing, and ongoing commercial oversight.
  • Own the AI platform cost and license governance, including consumption monitoring, optimization, forecasting, and alignment to budget expectations.
  • Build and lead the platform support model, including management of internal team members and consultant resources supporting the AI Platform.
  • Establish governance, operational standards, and production readiness requirements for AI platforms, including security, monitoring, access, support, and release discipline.
  • Ensure platform reliability, scalability, and service health across production AI environments by leading issue escalation, risk management, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner across architecture, engineering, security, infrastructure, and delivery teams to align platform evolution with enterprise standards and business priorities.
  • Define and review platform performance measures, using service, risk, and cost trends to guide roadmap, staffing, and operating model decisions.

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in platform operations, service management, site reliability engineering, AI/ML operations, or enterprise application support.
  • Experience managing production platforms with responsibility for availability, performance, incident response, release readiness, and operational stability.
  • Strong understanding of monitoring, observability, alerting, logging, and root cause analysis across cloud and enterprise platforms.
  • Experience supporting AI, analytics, or digital products in production, including model performance, solution accuracy, and post-deployment optimization.
  • Knowledge of service management and operational governance practices such as incident, problem, change, release, and knowledge management.
  • Ability to define and track operational KPIs such as uptime, latency, incident trends, adoption, user satisfaction, and cost efficiency.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, enterprise integration environments, and tools used for platform support, automation, and operational reporting.
  • Strong leadership and cross-functional coordination skills, with the ability to work across engineering, architecture, security, and business teams.
  • Experience building operational maturity through runbooks, support models, standard operating procedures, and continuous improvement routines.
