Position Overview

The primary role of the Director, Channel Marketing is to manage our distributor channel strategies and tactical execution for all HUS markets including Electric Utility, Communications, Aclara, Gas and International. This role will work closely with the sales management team in each segment to maintain and grow our relationships with our key partners, develop and implement industry competitive programs, and support the local, regional, national and international sales managers to implement the channel strategy and programs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create, implement and maintain overall strategic direction for HUS’ distributor channel to market across all segments including Utility, Communications, Aclara and International.
  • Lead the development of distributor partner marketing programs to enhance HUS’ channel position.
  • Collaborate with VPSA, HUS Segment Management and HUS Sales Management to implement distributor channel strategy at national partners in support of our sales goals.
  • Collaborate with Sales Management and Field Sales to implement local and regional distributor channel strategy in support of sales goals. 
  • Collaborate with other HUS and Business Unit functions including VP/GM, Training, Commercial Excellence, Customer Service, Finance and others in support of channel development.
  • Manage our commercial relationship and initiatives with our major distributor partners.
  • Manage the key distributor channel processes, analytics, reporting, and activities in support of the Platform & Sales Management and Business Unit organizations including 1-2 direct reports primarily responsible for the administrative functions of the position.
  • Develop upper management account relationships to further enhance HUS position with key distributor channel partners.
  • Plan, implement, and participate, as required, in industry functions, i.e. NAAUD, NAED, other.
  • Conduct segment, channel and industry-based research and analysis.
  • Collaborative with HEM (Branding & Advertising) and eMarketing resources to develop marketing material targeted to the distributor channel.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time for business related trips; ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time; ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
     

Skills and Experience

  • BS degree, MBA preferred.
  • Experience in the electrical products & electrical wholesaling industry.
  • 7-10 years professional experience including experience selling thru distribution.
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing, presentation, and communications skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a team environment and managing multiple projects.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and website/mobile/social media tools & applications.
  • Shared/recommended decision regarding training, strategy and execution.

Education

Bachelors Degree in Engineering General
Masters Degree in Business
