Position Overview

The Cybersecurity Engineer – GRC is a cross-functional role responsible for processing and creating solutions for risks identified at Hubbell.  This role will also be the lead on Data Classification and Data Loss Prevention projects and will advise internal Business Owner’s on development of internal controls to configure data protections. The Cybersecurity Engineer – GRC partners closely with Security, Business application owners, IT Infrastructure, IT application owners and IT architecture to ensure controls are operating effectively and informing on decision making to minimize risk.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and Manage Data Loss Prevention and Data Classification efforts across the enterprise. 
  • Specialize and train in selected Data protection tools and complete implementation of in process efforts.
  • Organize and work with internal business owners to understand data flow requirements to build controls within tooling. 
  • Develop and assist in training of user base on Data Protection and Handling.
  • Assist the Teams on creating remediation plans where needed to resolve noncompliance issues
  • Encourage new ways of thinking and performing governance and risk activities
  • Build rapport, credibility, and cohesion across all business units and teams

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in IT related work
  • High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.
  • Superior interpersonal abilities. Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature, flexible
  • Display initiative and accept responsibility for assigned responsibilities under minimal supervision
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized with an ability to stay in the detail, and resourceful to work effectively with multiple businesses, multiple teams and different time zones
  • Translates compliance and technical requirements into relevant and understandable terms
