Position Overview
The Information Security Investigations Analyst serves as a technical lead in protecting Hubbell’s digital data and information assets. This role is a compliance function focused on providing eDiscovery, reporting, analytical, and investigative support to the Compliance Operations Team and development, monitoring, and administration of security policies. This includes the design, construction, and implementation of security solutions for new applications or business processes. This role will interact with Compliance Operations, IT Security Operations, Human Resources, Legal, and other business units as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and operate technical security tools to identify, diagnose, and create a mitigation strategy for issues including resolution documentation
- Triage and document the technical aspects of security-related incidents
- Respond, evaluate, analyze, advise, and support inquiries, data loss prevention alerts, and investigations
- Assist in the review of alerts from user activity logs to determine validity and use judgement to identify activity that requires escalation for further investigation and reporting
- Research security advisories, intrusion techniques, analysis tools, and practices to provide recommendations and/or implementation of solutions or improvements
- Stay up to date with emerging industry issues to create and deliver cyber threat profiles
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist the Compliance Operations Team with the collection and documentation of forensicevidence
- Collect, analyze, and organize various sources of intelligence (open source, information sharing, cyber threat, networks, clients
- Create work products of analyses, briefings, and reports for stakeholders
- Translate requests from stakeholders into actionable reports
- Other related tasks as required
Skills and Experience
Knowledge, Skills or Abilities
- Technical skills such as programming/application development, network configuration, or server administration
- Ability to analyze complex systems and situations
- Ability to work discretely
- Forensic and/or investigation methodology including evidence acquisition, processing, and reporting
- Good communication skills, including the ability to communicate relevant risks and mitigation options in both written and verbal form
- Organizational skills
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS degree or 3+ years of relevant experience in cyber security or intel
- 3-5 years systems or network experience• 3-5 years information security experience
- Experience using eDiscovery suites (Microsoft Defender/Purview/Netskope)
- Experience preparing executive summaries and communicating information to stakeholders
- Successful collaborator with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Preference for working in a fast paced and ever-changing environment
- Attention to detail to ensure quality of work
- Experience working independently and using good judgment
- Experience with various computer systems, internet technology and software (PC, Mac, MS Office, online research, Microsoft 365 Security and Compliance, etc.)
- Proven experience analyzing information to assess threat and risk
