Job Overview

The Quality Specialist is responsible for the maintenance and reporting aspects of the quality management system at large. The Quality Specialist implements policies and procedures that enhance the awareness of quality, process controls, and continuous improvement of the quality management system.

A Day In The Life

Every day at Hubbell is different and you’ll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you’ll make a difference by: 

  • Develops and implements quality management systems and procedures to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards and other quality regulatory requirements
  • Designs, executes, and oversees inspection and testing processes to ensure quality and reliability. 
  • Collaborates with product development teams to integrate quality control into product designs and development processes
  • Analyzes data from quality testing and production metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to reduce waste and increase efficiency
  • Conducts root cause analysis for defect occurrences, report findings, and make recommendations for improvements
  • Prepares detailed reports on quality issues, performance metrics, and corrective actions
  • Coordinates with suppliers and vendors to ensure their products meet quality standards
  • Trains and guides production staff on quality control measures to improve product excellence
  • Monitors the ongoing performance and maintenance of the quality management system
  • Staying updated on the latest industry trends and quality control techniques
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • BS degree in Engineering, or related field is preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a quality engineer (preferred) in a manufacturing environment.
  • Quality Certifications: SSGB, SSBB, CQA, CQM, are a plus
  • Lead Quality Management Reviews, Kaizen Events, Lean sessions, etc.
  • Problem solving expertise. (8D, Root Cause Analysis, Risk, FMEA, etc.)
  • Microsoft Office Suite of tools (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, Visio, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to interpret products and component prints.
  • Basic working knowledge of QA related instrumentation and gages.
  • Certification in quality control is preferred (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO 9001, etc.) 
  • Experience in leading internal company audits and supplier audits (preferred) 
  • Proficiency in creation of presentations, facilitating training and public speaking (strongly preferred) 
  • Strong data analysis skills, process improvement, and project management background
