Job Overview

Conduct a wide variety of chemical, and performance testing of materials. Verify the conformity of incoming raw material and production batches. Assist or facilitate R&D and NPD process, construction, and testing. Organize and maintain the testing areas and facilities. Maintain detailed records of tests and processes completed and the results.

A Day In The Life

  • Evaluate the conformity of incoming raw materials.
  • Perform quality control tests on production lots.
  • Work on assigned R&D, NPD, and development activities which includes material processing and testing. Activities can include running experiments, polymer and resin formulation testing (like DSC testing, FTIR analysis. Gel time evaluation, and viscosity measurement), while recording and documenting testing activities.
  • Assist the engineering department with quality-related return and failure analysis as needed.
  • Organize and maintain the testing areas and facilities.
  • Communicate effectively with personnel and management.
  • Maintain detailed records of tests and processes completed and the results achieved.
  • Assist Engineering and manufacturing in writing procedures and work instructions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Must possess a bachelor’s degree in chemistry
  • Must be a member of “L’Ordre des chimistes du Québec”
  • Strong knowledge of the chemistry of epoxy resin and the epoxy injection process.
  • Able to work in the factory and testing areas/Labs and lift 50 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to input, retrieve and analyze data
  • Familiarity with statistical methods
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Read, use and understanding of measuring devices
  • Proper use of hand/power tools
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be a team player and work under minimal supervision, meanwhile strictly follow instructions from supervisors and engineers
