Position Overview

Operates various presses, Bridgeport, automatic taps, or tends transfer machine consisting of a series of stations connected by transfer mechanisms that transfer and position workpieces and perform forming and piercing operations on metal workpieces.

Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate selected will be performing the following duties (other duties may be assigned):

  • Loads and feeds materials into machine.  Checks and may add oils and coolant, as necessary, to machine reservoirs.  Engages automatic feed and job to ensure progression.
  • Inspects machined workpieces for surface defects and verifies conformance to Quality Control and/or SPC specifications.  Changes worn or broken tools as necessary.  Make adjustments as required per specifications.
  • Ability to completely set-up and operate machine including changing dies and die inserts.
  • Notifies supervisor or Set-Up A if machine failure or serious malfunctioning.

6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
