Position Overview

Responsible for the day-to-day management of payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed timely, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. Will supervise department timekeepers. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage and hour laws and best practices.
  • Provides training to team on policies, regulations, and processes.
  • Drives Process improvements between operations and payroll.
  • Maintain tracking of union due payments and reconcilliations.
  • Statistical reporting on employee pays, commissions and bonuses; vacation, sick, disability and workers compensation leave; taxes, withholding, etc. 
  • Conducts required audits.
  • May preform accounting related tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor Degree required preferred in business or accounting
  • A working knowledge of Excel, S.A.P.
  • 3-5 years experience in a supervisory role

Bachelors Degree in Business
