Position Overview
The Manager II, Finance serves as the finance business partner to the Plant Managers and Divisional leadership team by providing financial leadership to the operations in the planning and execution of business goals and objectives. The Manager II, Finance leads the financial performance of the business including: internal controls, compensation cost, planning, forecasting, reporting, and analyzing business drivers, risks, and operational metrics.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and coordinate the Business unit profit plans, monthly forecasts, goals & objectives, financial reconciliations, reports and analysis for plant & division management, including variance analysis and cost control reporting and recommendations.
- Lead, analyze, evaluate and interpret plant financial forecasts and operating results. Inform management of results and recommend corrective actions to address unfavorable trends and variances.
- Interpret, implement and monitor corporate policies and procedures, ensure financials are reported in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and local statutory requirements.
- Develop and implement budgeting and financial reporting systems to provide timely and relevant information to plant, region/division, and corporate management. Control and maintain adequate product costing systems for valuation and cost estimating activities.
- Ensure accurate financial statement reporting.
- Operational accounting oversight/analysis:
- Plant performance, cost & efficiency analysis, spending & absorption analysis, Inventory analysis
- Pricing support.
- Quote analysis/review/approval
- Measurement of price gains/losses in the context of ongoing price actions
- Knowledge of SAP and HFM.
- Monitor, maintain, and enhance the system of internal controls that safeguards company asset and provides for integrity and propriety of financial transactions and activities.
- Evaluate and approve plant capital appropriation requests prior to region/division and corporate management approval. Supervise and report purchase commitments and spending for all capital programs. Conduct follow-up audits to ensure compliance for all significant capital investments. Ensure safeguarding and accurate reporting of plant fixed assets.
- Lead the deployment of cost saving and other programs to provide operating economies and improve profitability. Monitors and provides opportunities to support continuously improving Plant Productivity / Gross Utilization.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to the Operations team by mentoring manufacturing Teams.
Skills and Experience
- 4 -10 years Finance Leadership experience in manufacturing.
