Position Overview

This position will provide Product Costing and Operational support for the Commercial Construction division of Hubbell Inc., which includes manufacturing and distribution facilities in South Bend, IN, Freeburg, IL, and other sites as appicable.  This position will serve as a key member of the Industrial/Commercial Construction Controllership team and will be responsible along with cost accountants for the development of standard costs, inventory management, fixed assets and related operational transactions and reporting. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct team of finance professionals responsible for product costing, inventory management, fixed assets, variance analysis, plant forecasting and other operational tasks
  • Support internal and external audit activity and assist in timely remediation of any findings or follow up items
  • Ensure Sox controls are documented and operating effectively
  • Complete monthly closing journal entries and account reconciliation
  • Prepare standard margin, inflation, and mix analysis
  • Administer the Scrap Authorization process
  • Assist sales and other teams in development of financial models and analysis
  • Develop and maintain cycles in SAP with assistance of EXL/Shared Services
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly reporting
  • Assist with annual physical inventories and cycle counting program for plants/warehouses
  • Maintain responsibility for routine calculation or accruals (ie E&O inventory and warranties

Skills and Experience

  • Basic Skills
  • Minimum of 5 years Accounting experience in a Manufacturing environment
  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution in Accounting and/or Finance
  • Intermediate to Advanced level MS Excel skills preferred


  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Accounting experience with Multi-site operation
  • Team Management
  • SAP experience preferred


Ability to travel up to 25%.
