Position Overview
KPO & Q Engineer reports to the Director of Operations supporting Staff Managers, Supervisors and Engineers and is responsible to define, plan, execute and follow up Continuous Improvement projects, activities and events supporting RACO ops team to increase operational performance.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the organization with operational KPI preparation, extracting the information from different sources and organizing them in a systematic manner to facilitate analysis. KPO & Q Engineer will extract and manipulate data in SAP, Excel, Power BI, SharePoint, Accumine and other tools.
- Support operations team with CapEx projects; collects information and ideas from the teams, performs cost-benefit analysis and prepares capital investment requests (AFE) to get project funds. Provides monthly follow up to projects keeping finance team up to date on CapEx status, as well as on Productivity projects tracked along CapEx.
- Provide Quality support for RACO Operation including RACO products at production facility and distribution center. Also, provides direct support on quality performance of RACO suppliers of Steel, Carton, Labels, hardware and secondary operations.
- Cultivates site culture by developing awareness and expertise of lean manufacturing and six sigma concepts and tools at all levels to achieve or exceed safety, quality, cost and delivery goals.
- Collected information from SAP, Production Supervisors, ADP, Accumine, etc., and feeds them into Power BI tools in order to have strong data visualization to facilitate analysis.
- Maintains consistent Project tracking using Excel, SharePoint, Power Point or any other tools necessary to have enough information to facilitate project execution and drive expected results keeping responsible people and actions updated.
- Performs financial calculations to justify capital expenditures (CapEx) and monthly monitors expense and benefits (Productivity) providing details to Finance.
- KPI Engineer supports projects related to equipment replacement, enhancement or addition; also supports production with labor productivity improvement (SMED, efficiency, utilization) as well as helping maintenance and tool room to increase lines uptime, implementing Preventive Maintenance program and in general improve OEE.
- Provide training on Lean/Six Sigma techniques for data analysis and problem solving: data analytics, deviations detection, problem solving, definition of improvement actions, tracking progress, measure and recognize success.
- Collects Quality data from production and analyze it with the team identifying gaps and corrective actions. Drives Monthly quality meeting to monitor data and actions.
- Provide support to Customers complaints regarding RACO products coordinating the communication with Customer Service, Brand Manager, Product Engineers or Sales Reps.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Lean and Six Sigma in a manufacturing operation.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Highly motivated individual that can work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Able to handle multiple and conflicting priorities.
- Strong on data collection and reporting (MSOffice suite), database desirable.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
