Position Overview

Supports the product engineering team in developing new products and making changes to existing products.  This position creates and maintains engineering drawings using SolidWorks 3D CAD software, and is responsible for controlling engineering documentation.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create 3D models for new and existing products
  • Creates 2D engineering drawings for new and existing products. 
  • Responsible for product engineering document control  
  • Creates and distributes engineering change notices (ECN). 
  • Maintains material master data in SAP.
  • Assists in product testing
  • Controls inventory of product standards (YTS)
  • Assists in developing new and making changes to existing packaging
  • Conducts quality assessments and contributes to making disposition decisions
  • Provides technical support to customers
  • Contributes to the product engineering and marketing team as called upon

Skills and Experience

  • Close working relationship with the product engineers, product managers, and marketing team
  • Daily interaction with purchasing, sourcing, and operations personnel
  • Frequent interaction with suppliers
  • 2 year Technical Degree in mechanical engineering, 3D CAD, advanced mathematics and industrial arts.
  • 6 to 8 years experience with 3D SolidWorks in product engineering environment.
  • High degree of mechanical and/or artistic aptitude.
  • Thorough knowledge of engineering procedures, factory operations and product application.
  • Plans own work completely with only general instructions from Supervisor.


High School Diploma
