Position Overview
To oversee, analyze and develop the Aclara ANSI Meters supply plan needed to support customer demand plan. The Manager must possess the expertise and knowledge to serve as the subject matter expert (SME) / power user for all Operations activities within the MRP system, working closely across the organization as needed. He/She will manage the Material Planning department to ensure all planning related responsibilities are being accomplished as required. Work closely with Aclara contract manufacturers managing the day to day on time delivery performance.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage supply planning organization creating expectations of challenging goals / continued career growth and opportunities
o Conducts employee performance reviews and provides employees with appropriate feedback and training to enhance their skills and productivity
• Work closely with the Director, Supply Chain Management with preparation and presentation of the S&OP
• Review and analyze sales backlog and demand forecast to ensure there is a supply plan in place to meet business plan
• Management of timely purchase orders placed to contract manufacturers and other suppliers
• Perform monthly reconciliation of open purchase orders.
• Provide / reconcile quarterly QBR scoring for designated planning objectives
• Work with Director, Supply Chain Management to oversee:
o Safety stock levels - balance between expected product management requested service levels and inventory expectations / turns.
o Manage min / max inventory levels of third party assembles / parts Aclara resells
o Aclara build to order model for ANSI Meters
o Sourcing strategies to reduce costs, eliminate sole source and risk to the business.
• Work with demand planning team to maintain supply plan required to meet the demand plan for the business.
• Liaison between program management, finance and external suppliers with respect to new product introduction, expediting product, monthly sales order pull-ins and customer priority issues.
• Sourcing leader for new product introduction which includes supplier selection and approval, price negotiations, contracts and management of successful launch.
• Manage the purchasing teams JDE issues / requirements working closely with IT as required.
o Stay abreast of system upgrades to maintain SME requirements
o Work to identify, develop and implement systemic reporting systems to improve operational effectiveness.
• Act as liaison for invoice issues between the buyers and Hubbell AP team as required
• Manage monthly reconciliation and JDE update of Aclara consigned component inventory
• Identify, drive and support process improvement initiatives.
Skills and Experience
Required
· Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in business administration or supply chain operations with at least 8 years of materials, procurement and supply chain planning in the electronic industry.
• Must possess an excellent understanding of an ERP system dealing with but not limited to inventory control, supply/ demand allocation, warehousing, shipping / receiving systems.
• Minimum of 5 years management experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities while adhering to deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
• Capable of working closely with other functional departments to drive continuous improvements.
Preferred
• JD Edwards or SAP or equivalent experience.
• 5 years working in a contract manufacturing environment.
Physical Demand:
