Division Overview
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Position Overview

Senior System Engineer develops high-volume electronic products system designs targeted for utility companies.

Duties and Responsibilities

Senior System Engineer will work closely with Engineering, Product Management, Sales, Marketing, and Support teams to ensure design performance and schedule goals are met.

This includes developing system and product requirements, use cases, defining input/output interfaces, working parameters for hardware/software compatibility, aid in constructing the product development plan, product deployment plan, and aid in resolving complex technical issues.

Skills and Experience

  • Advanced analytical skills demonstrated in the analysis and definition of complex systems.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams through the design/development process.
  • Ability to create product specifications detailing functionality, performance, interfaces, and data processing.
  • Highly motivated self-starter, capable of working independently and able to drive concepts to completion.
  • Bachelor’s, or higher-level degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Systems Engineering with a minimum of ten (10) years of industry experience in which analysis of complex systems was an important part of the job
  • OR Master Bachelor’s, in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Systems Engineering and a minimum of five (5) years industry experience in which analysis of complex systems was an important part of the job.


Bachelors Degree
Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
