Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement test processes and methodologies to facilitate production and the processing of customer returns.
- Serve as the manufacturing leader on new product introduction teams to provide all assembly and test processes, DFM/DFT/FMEA analysis, labor costs, capacity planning, quality plans, and 3rd party data logistics.
- Develop and implement process improvements to reduce costs and cycle times, improve product quality and enhance operator safety/ergonomics.
- Interface with 3rd party suppliers to resolve test and product problems.
- Prioritize and implement multiple concurrent process improvement projects, alone or as part of a multifunctional team, to drive customer satisfaction and business productivity.
- Provide technical support as required for production processes and equipment.
- Specify and procure new equipment and tooling to meet production and quality requirements.
- Develop and maintain process and equipment instructions and procedures.
- Train personnel on manufacturing equipment and procedures.
- Analyze manufacturing data as needed to keep processes compliant, improve yields, and increase productivity.
Skills and Experience
Required:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years performing manufacturing or engineering function developing processes.
- Strong proficiency with C# or equivalent programming, including test hardware and product interfaces.
- Experience with MS SQL and Access queries and data mining.
- Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes and provide effective efficient solutions.
- Firm understanding of EHS principles including direct application of safety and ergonomics to all processes and equipment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including strength in clear concise technical communications to internal teams, suppliers and external customers.
- Solid understanding of quality control methods.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, schematics and specifications.
- Knowledgeable of Lean methodologies.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to direct technicians.
- Proven record of effectively managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines while maintaining high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred:
- Working knowledge of network and server systems.
- Six Sigma Green Belt certified.
- Familiarity with the utility industry including metering and communication devices.
Physical Demands:
- Occasional domestic and international travel will be required to support contract manufacturers.
- Moderate to frequent lifting of 35 lbs. or more.
- Frequent sitting.
