Division Overview
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Position Overview

The Tableau Developer is responsible to build, support and maintenance of Tableau reporting. This position coordinates with end users to gather requirements and develops advanced reports and dashboards. Work with data engineers to identify data sources and gather appropriate data for reporting. Communication and interpersonal skills are key to success in this highly engaging position.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Creates and maintains highly visual, user-friendly and interactive Dashboards, user interfaces and other reports using Tableau and other reporting products.
  • Work with users to gather requirements for the reports and develop state of the art reporting to communicate findings and actionable recommendations to stakeholders clearly and effectively.
  • Responsible for data preparation, data blending, and creation of data models /sets using applications such as Azure data bricks/delta lake, python, SQL Server.
  • Develop quantitative analysis, tools, ad hoc reports, and models to support investigations.
  • Develop Tableau automation using Tableau APIs like JavaScript API, REST API, Hyper API, Metadata API and Document API.
  • Collaborate with other Analysts and Data Engineers to identify data sources and get appropriate data for reports.
  • Apply Tableau best practices in performance tuning and user-centric design
  • Define and document processes, best practices, and strategies for existing and future reports
  • Responsible for the education of users on available reporting platforms.
  • Identify process and technological improvements to help drive overall organizational effectiveness.

Skills and Experience


  • Completed Bachelor’s Degree in MIS/Analytics/Statistics/Data Science/Information Technology/Computer Science or a related field
  • 2 years of work experience creating Tableau reports
  • 2 years of experience in SQL, and data solutions
  • 1 years of experience in Azure/AWS
  • 1 years of experience in Programming/Scripting using Python
  • Strong knowledge of Tableau desktop, Prep and Server
  • Experience in data collection and analysis.
  • Strong knowledge and experience employing data visualization best practices.


  • Tableau Certified Data Analyst or Tableau Desktop Certified Associate
  • Experience in Tableau Administration
  • Experience in Tableau Embedded Analytics or creating custom products using Tableau Reports
  • Experience in other visualization tools like Power BI, MicroStrategy, Qlik etc.,
  • Have a fundamental understanding of Design Strategies around information display, Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing architectures
