Position Overview

This is a technical role responsible for the implementation and support of software and communications components of Aclara’s TWACS, STAR, RF Electric, Metrum, Lighthouse and other software products. This individual will work collaboratively with other members of professional services, systems engineering, software development, technical support, sales and marketing teams as well as 3rd party vendors and Aclara partners.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Gather business and technical requirements vital for implementations.
  • Load/configure servers and install all the required VM, Windows, SQL and Aclara’s database and software components.
  • Install and coordinate implementations of Aclara’s New Product Initiatives (NPIs) and existing products.
  • Work closely with internal and external team members including customers to set the right expectations, deliver successful and on-time implementations.
  • Act as first level of escalation for technical issues regarding projects in implementation period.
  • Solve and provide systems support during implementations period.
  • Communicate status of scheduled and in-progress projects with managers, project managers, customers and Aclara’s partners.
  • Independently make judgments during deployments and ensure consistent progress communication to all internal and external team members.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Understand database structures and perform queries for data analysis, testing and validation.
  • Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures and documents.
  • Demonstrate and handoff products to customers at the end of deployments and close customer tickets.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or technology field.
  • In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an Associate’s Degree in a business or technology field and 4+ years of related work experience will be considered
  • 2 or more years’ experience in supporting customers in production environment.
  • Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Windows, Virtual Machines and Databases (SQL).
  • Basic knowledge of network communication and storage technology.
  • Client facing and relationship building experience.
  • Intermediate written and oral communications skills and decision-making ability.
  • Organized, detail oriented, highly motivated, adaptable, and strong technical capability; able to learn quickly and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lead multiple tasks and to work independently.
  • Sophisticated troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Preferred - 3 years’ experience in the utility or AMI industry.
  • Preferred - Sophisticated knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server operations and configuration.
