Job Overview

The Territory Sales Manager (TM) is responsible for driving revenue growth by prospecting and acquiring new clients while maintaining relationships with existing customers. This role requires a proactive and results-driven individual with excellent communication and negotiation skills. The TM will identify sales opportunities, present products, or services, negotiate deals, and consistently meet or exceed sales targets.

 

A Day In The Life

A successful Territory Manager must be a self-starter who works well independently and as a team member.  The individual will need to be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Manage assigned territory to ensure effective, efficient and economical use of available time and Company assets to achieve sales objectives.
  • Conduct sales calls on Distributors and all potential users/consumers of Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems products.
  • Train Distributor personnel to sell and promote Hubbell products; manage Distributor inventory/investments to ensure maintenance of proper inventories to service the trading area and maximize the “Return on Investment”.
  • Conduct sales training, internal and external, within the District and Region as directed by Field Management
  • Conduct formal sales presentations to various groups, distributors, and end-users. Communicate to diverse types of end-users in a variety of ways, either by email, MS Teams/Zoom, phone, small group meetings, person to person meetings, Trade Shows and Business oriented social functions
  • Communicate through District Manager on any issues, problems, opportunities, successes, and new products
  • Service distributors and end-users while creating demand for the Company’s product offering
  • Build rapport and strong relationships with distribution, end-users and specifying influences
  • Cover open territories with assignment made by the District Manager
  • Serves as a customer information center for literature requests, catalog requests, technical detail, drawings, and cross-reference information
  • Continuously improving sales techniques, product knowledge, and interpersonal skills through training and self-development initiatives
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and legal regulations in all sales activities.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree / 3-5+ years related industry or with comparable product or service
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets and quotas 
  • Excellent persuasive interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with potential and existing clients
  • Customer-oriented mindset with a focus on providing exceptional customer service and building long-term relationships
  • Resilience to handle rejection and setbacks while maintaining a positive attitude and persistent approach towards achieving goals
  • Strong organizational skills to manage leads, follow ups, and sales appointments efficiently
  • Excellent Presentation skills
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams OneDrive, SAP Concur, experience with Salesforce.com preferred. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the sales team and other departments to ensure customer needs are met effectively
