Division Overview

Position Overview

The Territory Manager is responsible for the sales and promotion of Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems products through Distribution to end-users and specifying influences and for attaining assigned sales quotas within a territory.


Duties and Responsibilities


•Manage an assigned territory to ensure effective, efficient and economical use of available time and company assets to achieve sales objectives.

•Capable of working and communicating in a multi person territory to achieve sales objectives.

•Ability to take off construction documents and provide a bill of material.

•Attaining positive results with established yearly goals and objectives documenting your achievements.

•Strong timely follow up on orders, sales leads and requests providing superior customer and distributor service.

•Ability to comprehend and effectively communicate Hubbell product features and applications creating demand for the Hubbell product offering.

•Train distributor personnel to sell and promote Hubbell products; manage distributor inventory/investments to service the trading area and maximize the “Return on Investment”.

•Maintain accurate customer and distributor account records.

•Follow up and document quotation activity.

•Timely submittal of expense reports and pricing renewal approvals.

•Conduct sales training, internal and external, within the District and Region as directed by Field Management.

•Conduct formal sales presentations to various groups, distributors and end-users.  Communicate to various types of end-users in a variety of ways, either by letter, electronically, telephone, person to person or group meetings, trade shows and business oriented social functions.

•Communicate through district manager on any issues, problems, product modifications, opportunities, sales tools, successes and new products.

•Build rapport and strong relationships with distribution, end-users and specifying influences.

•Cover open territories with assignment made by the district manager.

•Serve as a customer information center for literature requests, catalog requests, technical detail, drawings and cross-reference information.


Skills and Experience


•OEM, MRO, electrical consulting engineer and electrical contractor sales experience is a plus

•Strong written and verbal communications skills.

•Should have strong Microsoft Office, e-mail and other PC application skills.

• Bachelor’s degree preferable in Business or Engineering or five to seven (+) years of related Industry sales experience or a High School diploma with seven (+) years of related Industry sales experience.
