Position Overview

The Wiring Sr. FP&A Analyst serves as a key member of the Hubbell Electrical Solutions (HES) finance team supporting X sites within the Wiring strategic business unit. This role reports to the Wiring Director of Financial Planning and Analysis in Shelton, CT and interfaces regularly with the Wiring General Manager and HES FP&A team. The Sr. FP&A Analyst will be responsible for executing multiple routine and ad-hoc planning and analysis tasks simultaneously while ensuring that internal Wiring and HES customer requirements are satisfied on a regular basis.  This role partners with the Accounting, Operations and HR functions to ensure the delivery of value-added analytical support to be applied by the Management team in making routine decisions and in setting near and long-term strategic objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Execute and oversee routine daily, weekly and monthly analytical & reporting exercises
  2. Analyze and make assessments of financial statements, and related metrics
  3. Effectively synthesize and communicate the ‘underlying story behind the numbers.’
  4. Play a significant role in the development of monthly forecasts, annual plans and longer-term strategic plan
  5. Support key financial system implementations including SAP and OneStream
  6. Simplify processes and reduce cost through automation and standardization of routine FP&A exercises
  7. Effectively communicate financial information to non-financial managers
  8. Effectively prepare ‘executive summary’ versions of complex financial data
  9. Efficiently obtain, organize and transform data in Excel, Business Intelligence and related applications
  10. Prepare analysis, commentary and presentation materials for monthly and quarterly financial review meetings
  11. Complete ad hoc financial information requests and various special projects as needed
  12. Assist with the financial integration of newly acquired businesses

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related field, from a four-year college or university required, CPA and/or MSA/MBA are a plus
  • 3+ Years of finance/accounting experience, preferably within a global manufacturing
  • Previous hands on experience with forecasting & planning
  • Previous experience obtaining and transforming data to solve complex problems
  • Ability to effectively identify, diagnose and communicate the impact of complex transactions to the company’s leadership team
  • Basic understanding of US GAAP, transactional accounting within a manufacturing company model and with a monthly accounting close process
  • Operational (Cost) accounting LIFO/FIFO inventory accounting knowledge   is a plus
  • Experience with a standard cost system is a plus
  • OneStream, Hyperion, or other financial consolidation package and SAP experience desired
  • Expert working knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint

Education

Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
