Responsible for organization, execution and coordination of product development tasks utilizing staff Engineers/Designers/Technicians as required. Responsible for product design, product redesign for improved function, safety, or features, and product redesign for cost reduction. Produce full electronics engineering designs and documentation. With direction, manage multiple projects while working in cross functional teams. Adhere to and obtain all required agency certifications.
- Experience with prototyping and design of analog and digital electronic circuits, PCBs, and assemblies.
- Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, spectrum analyzers, etc.
- Experience with ground-fault and arc-fault circuit interrupter technologies, a plus.
- Work with other engineers or independently, develop/design new products from concept to production using electronic circuit design, prototyping, and testing tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot designs of varying complexity, using schematics, layouts, or drawings.
- Familiar with the latest electronics technologies such as: microprocessors, power management, or mixed signals.
- Develop and review Electronic circuit design concepts, drawings and layouts, review and assist in design work with regard to function, manufacturability, safety, cost, project definition, and conformance to Codes and Standards.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or closely related Degree required.
- 3-5 years in Design of Electronic and Electro-Mechanical products. Skilled in the design of electronic circuits and prototyping. Knowledge of manufacturing techniques, high-volume electronic assembly processes and certification standards such as UL, CSA, etc. Capable of working on multiple simultaneous projects.
- Design products to be in conformance with all necessary agency standards ((UL, CSA, ETL, IEC, NEMA, IEEE, TIA, etc).
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously. Working within cross-functional teams. Report project status as needed to management and take appropriate actions to maintain project schedules.
- Support team members with documentation including detailed engineering drawings, bills of materials, performance specifications, and UL submittals.
- Redesign products for improved function, cost reductions, and sustainability initiatives.
- Designate and perform pertinent testing and evaluate results.
- Plan and secure necessary certification agency approvals for new and revised products (UL, CSA, ETL, IEC, NEMA, IEEE, TIA, etc.)
- Business travel of 10-25%, annually, can be anticipated.
