Position Overview:

Hubbell Incorporated is seeking a Senior Corporate Strategy Manager to strengthen our positioning in the Hubbell Electrical Systems market. This is a highly visible role in the newly formed Strategy team. Bringing ground-breaking thinking to the corporate and operations functions passionate about growth and improvement. The Strategy Manager is positioned to align our business groups and brands for improved alignments, innovation, products and markets as key consultant for business.

The candidate will excel at data-driven decisions that build long-term business value for Hubbell’s portfolio. Analyzing our competitive landscape, track and interpret critical industry trends, structure financial analyses, assist in critical M&A sourcing and projects (domestic/international), and work with Operations leaders on footprint rationalization/consolidation across Hubbell businesses. Role will be instrumental in crafting financial recommendations to our executive team. We are looking for someone with proven experience in conducting detailed manufacturing industry and business research as well as synthesizing sophisticated findings into meaningful insights. As a leader with vision in the company, this role will help build and grow the Corporate Strategy team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Tackle high-impact problems and develop measurable solutions for the most meaningful issues facing the company, with a focus on corporate/global/business unit work for the Senior Leadership team
  • Provide thought partnership to business leaders and Senior Executives on a range of critical opportunities related to strategy and growth.
  • Assess critical business and strategic levers, conduct meticulous research, and make recommendations through a data-driven process that ultimately positions Hubbell for success.
  • Lead market analyses and assess industry trends.
  • Assess Hubbell’s performance and positioning against competitors.
  • Understand and articulate competitors’ strategies, business models, and performance.
  • Develop thought leadership on emerging trends in the Electrical segments market and recommend new and/or add-on products, technologies, or markets.
  • Investigate new product and market expansion opportunities.

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing or related field required. MBA in Corporate Strategy, International Business, Marketing required.
  • Proven experience in strategic consulting (for example - BCG, McKinsey, Bain, Deloitte) or an internal Corporate Strategy role within a F500 company, private equity, venture capital, investment management, corporate strategy, corporate development; or prior experience at a high-growth technology/manufacturing company.
  • Demonstrated M&A and Restructuring experience in the manufacturing sector.
  • Outstanding analytical, research, and quantitative skills.
  • Highly analytical with sound business judgment and strong technical skills to process large quantities of data.
  • The ability to execute on and lead projects with minimal mentorship while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Proven track record to collaborate with stakeholders, cross-functional partners and senior leadership.
  • Strong understanding of finance principles.
  • Comfort with reading and using financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statements).
  • Excellent PowerPoint and Excel modeling skills.
  • Knowledge of data retrieval/analysis tools.
  • Ability for travel 15-25%.
