Position Overview

The Regional Specifications Manager, reporting to the Regional Vice President, with dotted line responsibility to the Premise Wiring Regional Managers. The scope of his/her responsibilities includes Wiring Device- Kellems and Premise Wiring products. Territory includes NM,AZ,CO,UT,MT,WY and ID.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Account responsibility is directed at medium and large consulting engineering firms, architectural firms and owners/representatives. This would include, but not be limited to, both private and public firms and institutions such as schools, colleges/universities, governments, hospitals, etc.
  • The RSM shall conduct product/application training seminars at target accounts to help in the specification process.
  • RSM shall be proficient at following the construction cycle and tracking jobs/projects.
  • RSM will put in place product specifications for all Hubbell WDK and HPW products that help write job/project orders.
  • Coordinate job/project opportunities with the local WDK and HPW Territory Managers.
  • Interact as necessary with target contractors and Hubbell distributors involved in the job/project cycle. 
  • Maintain contact database, organizational charts and call history on key accounts via TMS/CRM, and keep updated project tracking and spec share reports.
  • Communicate through the Regional Vice Presidents, Regional Managers, District, Managers and Territory Managers on project issues, opportunities, and results.
  • Develop annual sales plans with the Regional Vice Presidents to ensure achievement of district, regional and national objectives.
Skills and Experience
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communications skills.  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Computer Skills: Must have strong Microsoft Office, e-mail and other PC application skills.  Order processing systems; Project Management software; and Contact Management systems.
  • Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
  • Candidate must have intimate knowledge of the Electrical Industry and Specification market.
  • 4+ years’ experience preferred.
Bachelors Degree in Business
