Pricing Analyst II

Job Overview:
In an organization known for its world-class customer service, provide pricing and quotations for a target market area. Successful candidates will be proficient in excel (vlookup, % of change, aggregate increase reports, comparison reports, margins) and  have experience with analytics. Prior experience in buyer/purchasing role helpful.

The Pricing Analyst will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day pricing requirements, negotiations, and approving all quoted levels and maintaining long-term agreements. Responsible for providing on-the-job support and training for new employees, new process rollouts for quotation team members including the required documentation, and piloting programs to ensure that quotations team are maintaining data integrity for quotes. Provides support to the Quotations Supervisor.

A Day In The Life

  • Assist Quotations Supervisor in working with the sales organization to ensure that pricing is maximized without losing market share to the competition. Candidates must be comfortable with the situational nature of pricing.
  • Independently manage reporting, analyzing, and manipulating data using Excel.
  • Assist with resolving the final determination of claims/debits that are pricing related.
  • Autonomously work on continuous and dynamic decisions on a high level of daily transactions which have a direct impact on the company's fiscal performance.
  • Determine training needs and implement best practices within the Quotations Department. Train other Quotation Department personnel in pricing policies, negotiation strategies, and support systems. Manage training of new quotations team members under direction of Quotations Supervisor.
  • Support and collaborate with management and other departments to effectively implement and independently manage a multitude of projects.
  • Responsible for the management of the quotation process, including completion of all contract documentation, assignment of quotation number, and generation of management tracking reports, ensuring pricing strategy aligns and supports Management’s directive.
  • Understand and support e-Commerce initiatives specifically those related to pricing including but not limited to (844/849, e-SPA, 845).
  • Maintain current knowledge of all active marketing/sales/pricing programs (i.e., PIP, VP, VPDS, etc.).
  • Always maintain good customer relations. Provide reliable, prompt, and courteous communications to and from factory, field, distributors, and end users.
  • Be familiar with, and have a working knowledge of, all the job responsibilities of the Customer Service Representative position

 

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Ten or more years of pricing and/or experience in an equivalent analytical role with a consistent record of success.
  • Experience developing and executing pricing strategy.
  • Ability to develop prices utilizing input from multiple functional areas within the business as well as other sources of data.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office. Strong confirmed understanding of Excel applications is required.
  • Able to consistently meet critical goals and deliver accurate results.
  • Must possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Should have the ability to be compatible with all levels of the organization and work in a collaborative environment with a service demeanor.
