Position Overview

The Regional Manager supervises and directs the Manufacturers Repersentatives (Agents) and their sales personnel in all sales activities. This position is responsible for achieving sales quotas in all assigned territories.  The regional manager is also responsible for the training and performance appraisal of the Agents and their sales people in each territory; including the placement of qualified Agents in territories as required. The Regional Manager directly implements sales/marketing programs within each territory, and expand contacts to include middle and upper-tier management at all strategic distributor companies.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Hires and trains each Manufacturers Representative (Agent) for their specified territory.
  • Develops and conducts instructional sessions with all Agents.
  • Supervises Agents records and report requirements.
  • Provides reports on key elements for each territory as required by the VP of Sales.
  • Conducts performance appraisal reviews for each Agent annually or as required to maintain sales growth.
  • Directs Agents on new product and policy developments.
  • Directs Agents in areas of promotional programs and the use of selling aids.
  • Develops Agent Strategies and coordinates the activities of the sales personnel to obtain maximum sales effort; including joint calls as identified.
  • Coordinate’s authorization of new distribution in territories as planned.
  • Consults with Vice President of Sales on sales problems and the performance of Territory Agents.
  • Assists in preparation of annual sales plans, marketing strategies, promotional programs, forecasts, and budgets for each territory.
  • Knows distribution management personnel and all major end users.
  • Conducts distributor training as required.
  • Conducts Agent planning and training meetings, including coordination on NEMRA conference.
  • Effectively manage price realization for Bryant Electrical Distribution accounts.
  • Oversees and manages the Bryant Premier Distributor Program and the Sales & Marketing Program. Approval procedure for adding new accounts to these programs.
  • Oversees and manages the distributor Co-Op funds.
  • Responsible for annual Bryant Premier Distributor Program incentive payment process.
  • Manages the new distributor application process.
  • Maintain open communications with Hubbell Wiring Systems’ Regional VPs and District managers.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor degree required.
  • At least 5 years sales experience required.
  • Industry experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills.
  • Experience managing manufacturer rep agencies preferred.
  • MS Office proficient.

Education

Bachelors Degree in Business or Marketing
