Position Overview:

Hubbell Incorporated is seeking a Manager of Corporate Strategy to work closely with the Senior Manager, Corporate Strategy to strengthen our positioning in the Hubbell Electrical Systems market. This role is part of Hubbell’s in newly formed Corporate Strategy team. The Manager is poised to foster fresh and ground-breaking thinking to the corporate and operations functions focused on growth and improvement. The Manager has responsibility to support and help align our business groups and brands for improved synergies, innovation, new products and markets as part of the Corporate Strategy Team.

The candidate will play a vital role in providing data-driven information to leaders that focus on strategic decisions that build business value for Hubbell’s portfolio. The Manager will be adapt at analyzing our competitive landscape, track and interpret critical industry trends, and structure sophisticated financial analyses to support M&A sourcing and projects (domestic/international) across Hubbell’s businesses. We are looking for someone with proven experience in conducting meticulous manufacturing industry and business research as well as synthesizing sophisticated findings into meaningful insights to form the foundation of our business direction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide thought partnership to business partners and Senior Executives on a broad range of mission-critical initiatives related to strategy and growth.
  • Assess critical business and strategic levers, conduct meticulous research, and make recommendations through a data-driven process that ultimately position Hubbell for long-term success.
  • Lead critical market analyses and assess industry trends.
  • Assess Hubbell’s performance and competitive positioning against key competitors.
  • Understand and articulate competitors’ strategies, business models, and financial performance.
  • Help identify and be knowledgeable on emerging trends in the Electrical segments market and raise prospects for new and/or add-on products, technologies, or markets.
  • Investigate new product and market expansion opportunities.

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing or related field required. MBA in Corporate Strategy, International Business, Finance, or Marketing is desired.
  • 3+ years of experience in strategic consulting (for example - BCG, McKinsey, Bain, PWC, Deloitte) or an internal Corporate Strategy role within a F500 company, private equity, venture capital, investment management, corporate strategy, corporate development; or prior experience at a high-growth technology/manufacturing company.
  • Proven M&A and Restructuring experience in the manufacturing sector.
  • Exceptional analytical, research, and quantitative skills.
  • Highly analytical thinker with sound business judgment and strong technical skills to process large quantities of data.
  • The ability to execute on and lead projects with minimal guidance while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and communicate with key stakeholders, cross-functional partners and senior leadership.
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance principles.
  • Comfort with reading and using financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statements).
  • Excellent PowerPoint and Excel modeling skills.
  • Knowledge of statistical and data retrieval/analysis tools.
  • Ability for travel 10-15%.
