The Manager I Technical Services is responsible for overseeing and optimizing our technical services efforts. Their extensive expertise and exceptional leadership skills will drive the development and execution of customer-focused solutions. Working closely with cross-functional teams, they will provide technical guidance, mentorship, and direction to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
A Day In The Life
Every day at Hubbell is different and you’ll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you’ll make a difference by:
Leading a mid-size engineering team in the implementation of strategic planning functions including product strategies, workforce requirements, and expense and capital budget proposals.
Executing applied research or advanced development of new products, materials, or processes.
Interacting with and providing updates to executive management and other departments on advanced technical issues.
Keeping up to date on relevant technologies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Utilizing claim data analytics to drive systematic improvement.
Addressing internal quality issues and communicating quality performance to site leaders.
Assisting Product Managers with specification documents for products.
Creating control plans to support new product development projects to help avoid problems that may occur.
Developing and owning key measurable tracking, reporting, and actions to meet established targets.
Identifying and providing opportunities for growth and development of team members.
Facilitating product training for site employees as necessary.
What will help you thrive in this role?
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and/or computer science or equivalent
Supervisory experience (required)
3-5 years of experience in a technical leadership role with strong management and leadership skills (required)
5 years of experience in the design and development of products
Excellent computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings
Strong communication skills – verbal and written
Process improvement and data analytical skills preferred
