Position Overview

The Cost Accounting Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of certain cost accounting activities being performed at the Wiring Systems businesses. This role will support the Accounting Lead to ensure accounting needs of the respective businesses are being met. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as key point of contact for Wiring Systems in development of standard costs and performing standard cost roll
  • Provide finance support for our manufacturing locations’ site leadership
  • Maintain robust controls throughout the organization and help to identify and address potential risks in a timely manner
  • Support internal and external audit cost related activities and assist in timely remediation of any findings or follow up items and work with Business Units to ensure SOX controls are documented and operating effectively
  • Complete monthly closing journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly variance analysis regarding production costs and department expenses
  • Provide support for preparing and loading annual operating budget and monthly forecasts
  • Assist in execution of annual physical inventories and supervision of cycle counting program
  • Maintain responsibility for routine calculation of accruals (i.e. E&O inventory and warranties)
  • Provide finance support for projects, including capital, major maintenance, and restructuring
  • Identify opportunities to increase the efficiency of the close process through enhancement of existing procedures and utilization of financial systems and tools
  • Complete ad hoc financial information requests and various special projects as needed

Skills and Experience

  • Good working knowledge of transactional accounting and internal controls | SOX
  • Deep understanding of cost accounting, product costing and analysis of manufacturing variances
  • SAP, HFM and Onestream knowledge is helpful
  • Expert knowledge of MS Excel (V-lookup, pivot tables) and Powerpoint
  • Knowledge of Power BI is helpful
  • Experience in continuous improvement initiatives and implementing finance and accounting best practices
  • Self-starter who is able to work independently and execute projects effectively
  • Ability to communicate effectively and influence change across all levels of the organization
  • 8-12 years Manufacturing Accounting experience, preferably within a multi-site organization


Bachelors Degree in Business
Specialized Studies in Accounting
