Position Overview

The Senior Electronics Engineer is responsible for organization, execution, and coordination of product development tasks, using a team of Engineers/Designers/Technicians as required. Under general direction, has duties of instructing, directing and checking the work of other design engineers. Responsible for product design and development of electronics and embedded systems of Wiring System products. Provide management of multiple projects working in cross-functional teams.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Experience leading a team of electronics and/or software engineers, preferred.
  • As team leader or independently, develop/design new products from concept to full production using Electronic Circuit design, PCB design, and software tools.
  • Develop and review Electronic circuit design concepts, drawings and layouts
  • Design products in conformance with all necessary agency standards (UL, ETL, CSA, IEC, NEMA, IEEE, TIA, etc.)
  • Act as internal consultant providing technical guidance to engineering team on complex projects.
  • Perform project management functions by working with cross-functional teams to implement the project objectives including budgeting responsibilities as allocated, developing project schedules and product specifications.
  • Produce full engineering documentation including detailed engineering drawings, bills of materials, performance specifications, and UL submittals.

Skills and Experience

  • BSEE or BSCE Degree required
  • 7+ years in Design of Electrical and Electro-Mechanical products.
  • Experience with Altium Designer, or equivalent, for schematic and PCB design.
  • Experience with embedded system development tools/IDEs for Microchip, NXP, ST or other microcontrollers.
  • Proficient in design and prototyping of analog and digital electronic circuits, PCBs, and assemblies.
  • Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, spectrum analyzers, etc.
  • Strong project management skills in handling multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques, high-volume electronic assembly processes and certification standards such as UL, CSA, etc.
