Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Vice President, Business Transformation, the Finance Manager will serve as a key member of the Hubbell Incorporated Finance organization and will lead most aspects of financial support for the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and the New Product Development & Innovation (NPX) program. The primary objective role is to serve as the financial business partner and subject matter expert for the CTO team and to support Hubbell’s innovation strategy as established by the CTO. The scope of this role includes 1) partnering with the CTO in the design, implementation and on-going management of a transparent and robust innovation program; and 2) providing dedicated financial support and coordination for financial planning, forecasting, reporting, analysis and controls surrounding Hubbell’s NPX program. This role will act as a liaison between Hubbell’s finance team and the CTO team and will collaborate cross functionally and across Segments to help drive alignment of financial aspects of the NPX program.

In addition, serve as the financial partner to the Chief Information Officer (CIO). Finance support for the CIO will include ownership of department planning, forecasting, analysis of results and overall cost center reporting and management support. This role will also support IT-related restructuring actions, growth initiatives, capital expenditures, vendor negotiations, and other areas across IT requiring financial support.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner with the CTO to support all aspects of financial management, reporting, forecasting and the enterprise NPX program
  • Lead the implementation and ongoing maintenance of a uniform approach to measuring, evaluating, forecasting and reporting financial performance, metrics and KPI’s for Hubbell’s NPX initiatives
  • Develop, implement and maintain appropriate enterprise-wide NPX scorecards, Power BI data visualization dashboards, performance metrics and reporting cadence that are aligned with enterprise financial reporting
  • Lead all aspects of the annual operating plan and quarterly forecasts for the CTO and the CIO
  • Assistance with financial modeling, case analysis and ROI assessments for NPX initiatives
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Finance teams to provide appropriate levels of transparency into NPD projects as well as Research, Development and Engineering expenses
  • Provide financial support for key restructuring initiatives and strategic growth opportunities across CTO and CIO teams
  • Evaluate certain capital expenditure initiatives across CTO and CIO teams
  • Support the CTO and finance team for engineering time capture and labor cost reporting by NPX initiative
  • Support accounting and reporting policies and procedures, as well as SAP cost accounting / cost collection / cost reporting strategy, for NPX program
  • Assistance with accounting, reporting and administration for all NPX cost centers across the enterprise
  • Help drive consistency in financial modeling and forecasting for all NPX initiatives
  • Produce weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual financial and operational reporting package that includes relevant financial statements, KPI reporting, operational Dashboard reporting, analysis of key business trends, actual versus Plan, forecast and prior year variances and comprehensive and executive-level explanations of differences

 

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA, CMA and/or MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of finance and accounting positions of growing responsibility
  • Supervisory / managerial experience
  • Demonstrates professional presence and ability to communicate efficiently and effectively across various levels of the organization
  • Solid understanding of financial modeling, financial analysis, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting
  • SAP experience a strong plus
  • Self-reliant, excellent problem solver, results-oriented
  • Upbeat, flexible, collaborative and proactive
  • Strong analytical skills, sophisticated Excel skills, Power BI data visualization experience
  • Strong written, verbal communications and PowerPoint presentation skills
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Flexible for travel as needed
