Job Overview

We are looking for a self-motivated and experienced Finance Reporting Manager for our Corporate Finance team. The Financial Reporting Manager will support the Corporate Controller’s team in a broad range of accounting and reporting activities and projects, which may include critical initiatives supporting the investor relations function, monthly close process, financial systems implementations, as well as Corporate Accounting, and driving improvement in financial close process and internal controls.

 

The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator that is able to navigate multiple stakeholders, will be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, highly motivated, and a critical thinker who can effectively process and offer alternative solutions to overcome problems or questions that may arise from evolving business needs. To be effective the candidate should have a strong working knowledge of SAP and Onestream as well as a solid basis of knowledge and experience with authoritative U.S. GAAP and Hubbell policies and procedures.

A Day In The Life

  • Support for the Corporate accounting team; managing key technical aspects of the Corporate close, including segment reporting, stock-based compensation, lease accounting in accordance with ASC 842 as well as key corporate control activities
  • Guide the segment finance functions through key close and control activities and OneStream to ensure timely and accurate monthly and quarterly reporting of results and proper intercompany eliminations
  • Support complex accounting matters partnering with the Corporate Controller’s team on technical assessments 
  • Prepare the Company’s statement of Cash flows, including detail analysis of major drivers period over period
  • Provide a high level of thought process to drive improvement; recommend areas for improvement and lead projects to enhance the financial accounting, reporting and internal control environment
  • Finance support for the Investor Relations team; including ownership of the quarterly earnings press release and call slides, shared ownership for earnings call Q&A preparation document, ad-hoc analysis in collaboration with the FP&A and accounting teams, participation in investor calls, preparation for investor conferences
  • Participate in the SOX 404 compliance program and for the initial and ongoing design and operational effectiveness of all internal controls over financial reporting
  • Assist with coordination of PwC external audit activity
  • Exhibit flexibility and willingness to take on new responsibilities and assignments as they are identified and to assist with various ad hoc projects as needed

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Finance and accounting professional with 10+ years’ experience in accounting and finance
  • Be a licensed CPA
  • Big 4 experience strongly preferred
  • Experience preparing a statement of cash flows
  • Deep experience with SOX 404 and internal audit and compliance programs
  • Experience with SAP, OneStream and the Workiva SEC reporting platform is preferred
  • Proven ability to lead, manage, mentor develop all levels of accounting team
  • Experience interfacing regularly with professionals at all levels of the organization, from manufacturing floor to senior executive office
  • Experience presenting crisp | concise | clear | well-organized information to all levels of the organization
  • Proactive and collaborative in management style and communication approach
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to partner and collaborate across the organization
  • Willingness and ability to adapt to the rapid business and organizational changes that accompany a high-growth environment
