Job Overview
The Director of Materials Management will lead all materials and planning operations across multiple sites and business units, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and driving continuous improvement. This role will set the vision, develop long-term strategies, and oversee the execution of materials management processes to support business growth and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in transforming our operations and supply chain organization to better meet evolving customer expectations. They will bring deep expertise in materials management and production planning, and will be instrumental in driving strategic initiatives that enhance agility, responsiveness, and operational efficiency across their assigned sites and business units.
The Director of Materials Management will report to the Sr. Director of Materials and Supply Chain. It is preferred that the chosen candidate is located at a Hubbell Electrical Solutions location.

- Leading and managing planning and inventory management initiatives to drive exceptional levels of customer service.
- Developing and executing a comprehensive materials management and planning strategy that aligns with the company’s business goals and objectives.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives and implementing best practices to reduce operational costs and improve efficiency.
- Driving the integration and standardization of operations IT systems to support continuous improvement in materials management and supply chain processes, ensuring data consistency, process efficiency, and scalable business operations.
- Collaborating with other department heads to ensure alignment in supporting overall business strategy.
- Developing and managing departmental budgets and forecasts.
- Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of materials and planning professionals.
- Traveling up to 25% of the time.
What will help you thrive in this role?
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in factory materials management optimization and implementing strategic initiatives that have resulted in measurable business improvements.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing team.
- Proven experience as an effective coach and mentor with cascading impact.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
