Join our team as a Cybersecurity Engineer and play a pivotal role in safeguarding Hubbell's digital landscape. This position offers a unique blend of Security Operations Center (SOC) duties, threat management, and proactive monitoring, placing you at the forefront of our cybersecurity defenses.

As a direct report to the Senior Director of Cybersecurity Operations, you will both lead and collaborate, using your expertise to assess risks, fortify our infrastructure, and deliver clear, impactful insights to stakeholders across the organization. Your work will span cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments, ensuring robust security architectures and frameworks are in place and continuously improved.

A Day In The Life

The Cybersecurity Engineer will be expected to:

 

  • Enhance and support the cybersecurity operations program in alignment with business goals, risk tolerance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Design, deploy, and maintain security tools, architectures, and frameworks across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
  • Continuously assess the organization’s cybersecurity posture and recommend improvements.
  • Translate complex technical security issues into clear, business-relevant insights for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with IT, legal, compliance, and business units to manage risk and ensure adherence to standards such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.
  • Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices in cybersecurity.
  • Provide after-hours support for critical implementations or incident response as needed.

What will help you thrive in this role?

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related degree).
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in incident response, threat analysis, and system monitoring.  
  • Strong understanding of adversarial tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
  • Proficient in conducting risk assessments and ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Hands-on experience with vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and endpoint / network security.
  • Familiarity with change management and project delivery methodologies.
