Position Overview
The Associate Quotations Specialist will work with the quotations group and accounting to clear up pricing deductions and reduce future pricing errors. Major activities include manipulating the order tolerance report, targeting customers with significant deduction history and working with field sales to resolve errors. In addition, the Associate Quotations Specialist will assist the Quotations team with day to day tasks and assist in departmental projects. Our ideal candidate must be willing to learn intricacies of Hubbell and our quotation process as this is essential to the department’s effort to maintain excellent customer relations with our field sales force and distribution customers. This is a hybrid position in our Shelton, CT office.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supports the Quotation Supervisor and Specialist team in identify missing data, and is responsible for the communication and clarification of any necessary information for entry or distribution of quotes.
- Maintains accurate tracking reports and schedules for quotations team.
- Provides consistent, responsive, quality service to our internal and external customers.
- Actively participates in coordinating, analyzing, and acting upon information and feedback of customer needs, pricing, products, competition, and procedures.
- Supports with the Quotations representatives and Customer Financial Services staff to resolve customer billing problems resulting from errors in the quotations pricing and credits.
- Provides support to the quotations representatives by using SAS to determine margin for specific bills of material. Over time this is will lead to the ability to approve job quotes.
- Supports quotations department projects as requested of the Quotations Supervisor.
- Ensures all interaction are handled with the highest possible quality & handle day to day duties as needed.
- Provides reliable and prompt communications to and from the field sales force and distributors for resolution of quotations issues. Must be able to analyze and evaluate problems that arise and solve or get answers expeditiously and thoroughly.
Skills and Experience
- 1-2 years' experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Positive and professional demeanor.
- Sense of urgency; meeting of deadlines.
- Solid decision making and analytical skills with the understanding that decisions will affect the profitability of the company.
- Computer literate; strong Excel skills.
